After a late night campfire, we woke up to brisk cool air and gray skies. But even though today was not the sunny day we were hoping for, camp has still been filled with color and laughter! Not long after breakfast (french toast and scrambled eggs), the rain rolled in, and it hasn’t really let up since.
We’ve spent the day indoors, turning the rec space into a hub of games and crafts. Campers dove into their projects with enthusiasm, proudly starting work on their Color War team flags, sketching out symbols and designs that will represent their tribes for the rest of the week. It’s been wonderful to watch how quickly teammates are bonding over shared ideas and the competitive spirit.
Another highlight of the afternoon was kite-making. Even though the skies are too wet for flying, the campers loved designing bold patterns and decorating their own creations. We’ll be holding onto them until the weather clears so they can take their rightful place in the sky.
With the temperature dropping a bit, we’ve had everyone bundle up in layers, and the rain outside has actually made camp feel extra cozy. Between board games, laughter echoing through the cabins, and the hum of creativity in our craft spaces, it’s been a perfect reminder that fun at camp doesn’t depend on the forecast. It's all about the community these campers have been building over the last decade.
Dinner is just around the corner, and with appetites worked up from such a full day indoors, it promises to be a lively, warm evening together.
